One&Only The Palm is Dubai's answer for couples who want a beach resort without the theme-park scale. It sits on the West Crescent of Palm Jumeirah, set back from the busy trunk of the island and it is built low: Moorish-style buildings among fragrant gardens, a private stretch of sand and a trio of pools with cabanas. Across the water, the Dubai Marina skyline glitters at night.

The resort's reputation rests heavily on food. STAY by Yannick Alléno is its Michelin-starred French restaurant and the chef also oversees L'abysse, an omakase sushi counter and Casea 101, a Mediterranean spot for long lunches and golden-hour drinks. The Guerlain Spa is the only one in the UAE.

For a honeymoon, it works best as the beach half of a Dubai trip: three or four nights of swimming, spa and great dinners, then a night or two in the desert. It suits couples who want polish and privacy close to the city. Couples who want nightlife on the doorstep or a kid-free resort should look elsewhere.

Highlights at a glance

  • The UAE's only Guerlain Spa
  • Private beach and three pools with cabanas
  • Villas with garden pools

Why Couples Love One&Only The Palm

Scale is the big draw. Many Palm Jumeirah hotels are towers with hundreds of rooms; One&Only The Palm feels like a private estate. Paths wind through gardens and fountains and the beach rarely feels crowded.

The outlook helps too. From the sand and the pools you face the water and the Marina towers beyond. It is a lovely mix: you feel tucked away during the day, then the skyline lights up at night like a stage set.

Service is warm and attentive in the One&Only style. Guests regularly mention staff remembering their names and drinks. Couples who have done the big Dubai sights often say this is where they finally relaxed.

Rooms, Suites and Villas to Book

The resort offers rooms, suites and villas spread among the gardens. For a honeymoon, the decision comes down to view and private space.

  • Rooms are spacious and elegant, a good base if you plan to spend most of the day out at the beach and pools.
  • Suites add a separate living area and, in many cases, more generous terraces with better views.
  • Villas offer the most privacy and some have their own garden pool. They are the choice if you want to swim without leaving your door.

Ask for a sea or Marina view and mention your honeymoon when you book. Because the resort is low-rise, upper-level rooms give the broadest views. Book early for December to March, the busiest season.

Restaurants and the Guerlain Spa

Yannick Alléno's restaurants make this one of Dubai's best hotels for food.

  • STAY by Yannick Alléno is the Michelin-starred French dining room. Make it your celebration dinner and dress the part.
  • L'abysse is a Japanese-style omakase sushi counter, intimate and ideal for two.
  • Casea 101 serves Mediterranean food for long lunches and golden-hour aperitifs by the water.
  • Zest is the relaxed all-day restaurant by the pool, with Italian dishes and Neapolitan-style pizza.

The Guerlain Spa, the only one in the UAE, uses the French house's products and rituals. A couples treatment is a perfect way to recover from a day of sightseeing in the heat. Book both spa slots and STAY well before you arrive.

Things to Do

At the resort, days are about the beach, the three pools and the spa. Private cruises can be arranged from the resort and an evening boat trip past the Palm and the Marina is a lovely way to see the city lit up.

In the city, spend one morning in Old Dubai: the Al Fahidi historic district, an abra boat across Dubai Creek and the gold and spice souks in Deira. Another evening, ride to the top of the Burj Khalifa at sunset and watch the Dubai Fountain show afterward.

For a contrast, add a night or two in the desert. The Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve is about an hour away and has quiet resorts with dunes and wildlife. Golfers will find several championship courses within half an hour.

Getting There

Dubai International Airport (DXB) is roughly 35–50 minutes away by car, depending on traffic. The resort can arrange a private transfer, which is easiest after a long flight. Al Maktoum International (DWC) at Dubai World Central is a similar distance to the south and is used by some airlines.

Once in Dubai, taxis and ride apps are inexpensive and reliable at all hours. The Palm Monorail runs along the trunk of the island and the Dubai Metro reaches Downtown, though many couples simply take taxis in the heat.

Downtown and the Burj Khalifa are about 30 minutes away and the old town around Dubai Creek a little farther.

Is It Worth It?

If you value food, privacy and service over a big pool party, yes. One&Only The Palm gives you a calmer, more intimate stay than most Palm Jumeirah resorts and the restaurants are a genuine highlight rather than an afterthought.

Rates are high, especially from December to March and dining at STAY adds substantially to the bill. Couples who want a livelier scene or theme-park thrills will find more at the big resorts on the Palm's trunk and outer crescent. Those who want a kid-free stay could compare One&Only Royal Mirage, whose Residence section is reserved for adults.

For most honeymooners, three or four nights here plus two in the desert is a satisfying Dubai trip.

Good to Know

Dubai is very hot from June to September, often above 100°F, though resort pools and air conditioning help and rates drop. October to April is the most comfortable time.

Swimwear is fine at the resort, but cover up in public places such as malls and the old souks; both partners should cover shoulders and knees at the Jumeirah Mosque. Public displays of affection beyond holding hands are best avoided outside the resort.

The resort welcomes families, so expect some children at the pools during school holidays. Bring your passport for check-in.

FAQ

One&Only The Palm questions, answered

Is One&Only The Palm kid-free?

No. It welcomes families, though its low-rise, garden layout and focus on dining give it a calmer feel than larger Palm Jumeirah resorts. Couples wanting a kid-free option in Dubai could look at The Residence section of One&Only Royal Mirage, which is reserved for adults.

Does One&Only The Palm have a beach?

Yes, a private stretch of sand on the West Crescent of Palm Jumeirah, plus three pools with cabanas. The water is generally calm and warm for much of the year. The view across the water takes in the Dubai Marina skyline, which is especially pretty after dark.

What are the best restaurants at the resort?

STAY by Yannick Alléno, a Michelin-starred French restaurant, is the headline. The same chef oversees L'abysse, an omakase sushi counter and Casea 101, a Mediterranean restaurant for long lunches and sunset drinks. Zest by the pool serves relaxed Italian food and pizza.

How far is it from the airport and Downtown Dubai?

Dubai International (DXB) is roughly 35–50 minutes by car depending on traffic. Downtown Dubai and the Burj Khalifa are about 30 minutes away. Taxis and ride apps are easy to find and the resort can arrange private cars.

When is the best time for a Dubai honeymoon?

October to April offers warm, sunny days and pleasant evenings, with December to March the busiest and most expensive. Summer is extremely hot, but rates fall and resort life centers on pools, the spa and air-conditioned dining.
