The Loren at Pink Beach is Bermuda's most design-led hotel and one of its best choices for a honeymoon. It sits on the south shore in Smith's Parish, near Tucker's Town, on eight acres of clifftop grounds that step down to a private pink sand beach. Opened in 2017, it brought a clean, modern look to an island better known for pastel cottage colonies.
The hotel has fewer than 50 rooms, suites and villas, all designed to make the most of the ocean. Expect private terraces, freestanding tubs, walk-in rain showers and Sferra linens. The Pink Beach Club restaurant sits at the water's edge and Marée is the bar and lounge, which turns into a cocktail spot in the evening. There is a Sisley Paris spa with a couples treatment room and two heated pools.
The Loren holds one MICHELIN Key and its guest mix leans toward honeymooners and anniversary couples, although families are welcome. It suits couples who want style and calm close to the airport, with easy access to Bermuda's famous beaches farther west. Those wanting a big resort with many restaurants, or a lively scene, may prefer Hamilton or Southampton.

Why Couples Love The Loren
The design sets The Loren apart. The buildings follow the contours of the land, with white walls, floor-to-ceiling glass and terraces angled toward the ocean. Interiors are modern and calm, with a nod to Bermudian charm in the textures and colors.
The beach is the other draw. Two small coves below the hotel are reserved for guests and members, with soft pink sand and clear water. Kayaks, paddleboards and snorkeling gear are free to borrow, so a morning paddle along the coast is easy.
Scale matters too. With fewer than 50 rooms, the hotel rarely feels busy and the staff get to know guests quickly. Many reviewers mention the welcome and the attention to small details, from beach setups to restaurant reservations.
Rooms and Suites to Book
All rooms have private terraces or balconies, freestanding tubs, walk-in rain showers and Sferra linens, with the ocean as the focus.
- King Balcony suites are the entry level for most couples, with Atlantic views from a private balcony. Ask for a higher floor.
- King Terrace suites add a larger outdoor space at ground level, which suits couples who like long breakfasts outdoors.
- One-bedroom villas give extra space and privacy and they are the best honeymoon splurge.
- Two-bedroom suites, a penthouse, a three-bedroom villa and a six-bedroom Residence suit families and groups.
For a honeymoon, a King Balcony with a high ocean view is the value pick, while a one-bedroom villa is the romantic upgrade. Some suites are wheelchair accessible, so ask if that matters to you.
Food, Drink and the Spa
Pink Beach Club, set at the water's edge, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with a menu that blends Mediterranean and Asian influences with Bermudian seafood. Dinner on the terrace as the light fades over the water is the obvious celebratory night.
Marée, the hotel's bar and lounge, is relaxed by day and becomes a cocktail bar from about 5 p.m. Order a rum swizzle or a Dark 'n' Stormy, Bermuda's signature drinks, before dinner.
The Sisley Paris spa has three treatment rooms, including one for couples and a 24-hour fitness center. There are two heated pools: a main pool with an immersed seating area and a smaller family pool. For variety, Hamilton's restaurants are about 20 minutes away by taxi and St. George's, a UNESCO-listed town, is close by.
Why guests fall for it
Things to Do
Start with the hotel's own beach, then explore the south shore. Horseshoe Bay, Warwick Long Bay and the small coves along the coastal dune trail are about 30 to 40 minutes west by taxi or bus. Elbow Beach is closer.
For a different side of Bermuda, visit St. George's, a 17th-century town with narrow lanes and old churches. The Crystal and Fantasy Caves, near Harrington Sound, have underground lakes and stalactites. Spittal Pond, a nature reserve on the south shore near the hotel, has coastal walks and birdlife.
On the water, book a snorkel trip to the reefs and shipwrecks, or a sunset sail. Golfers can play at nearby courses. Some couples rent electric minicars or scooters to explore at their own pace, although taxis and buses are easier if you are not confident on narrow, winding roads.
Getting There
The Loren is one of the closest hotels to L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA), about 15 minutes by taxi. Bermuda has nonstop flights from several US East Coast cities, with flight times of around two hours from New York.
Visitors cannot rent regular cars in Bermuda. Taxis are the simplest way to get around and the hotel can call them for you. Buses run along South Road and the ferry network links Hamilton, Dockyard and St. George's.
For more independence, small electric two-seaters and scooters are available to rent. Driving is on the left, roads are narrow and the speed limit is low, so take it slowly. Bring your passport and pack layers: Bermuda is in the Atlantic, not the Caribbean, so winter evenings can be cool.
Is It Worth It?
The Loren is one of Bermuda's best luxury hotels and its rates are high but not out of line with the island's top properties. Entry rooms start around $590 a night in quieter months, including taxes (approximate), with summer rates much higher. What you get is a quiet, stylish hotel on a private beach, close to the airport.
It is less suited to couples who want lots of on-site dining, since there is essentially one restaurant and one bar. Families are welcome, so expect some children in summer. Couples who want to be near Horseshoe Bay and the famous beaches might prefer a hotel in Southampton.
Bermuda's best beach weather runs from May to October. Winter is mild and quiet, with lower rates, but the water is cool.
