Awasi Patagonia is the most private place to stay in Torres del Paine. It is also the strongest choice for honeymooners who want the park on their own terms. There are only 16 stand-alone villas, spread through native forest on a private reserve of about 7,000 acres beside the national park. Each one has a direct view of the Torres del Paine massif and Lake Sarmiento.
The defining feature is the same as at Awasi's desert lodge: every villa gets its own guide and 4x4 vehicle. You decide with your guide when to leave, where to go and how long to stay. That means reaching the base of the towers trail early, lingering at a Grey Glacier viewpoint when the light is good or spending an afternoon tracking pumas on the reserve.
The lodge is a Relais & Châteaux member. The restaurant is reserved for Awasi guests. It is one of the most expensive stays in South America. It sits outside the park, so some drives are long. Couples who want to be inside the park with a lively bar may prefer Explora Torres del Paine.

Why Couples Love Awasi Patagonia
Privacy is the heart of it. With only 16 villas, each set apart in the trees, you rarely see other guests except at meals. There are no group departures and no fixed schedules. Your guide adapts each day to the weather and to how you both feel.
The view is a constant companion. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the Paine massif across the steppe and Lake Sarmiento. On clear mornings the towers catch the first light. On stormy ones, clouds pour over the peaks in fast-moving waves.
The reserve adds something extra. It is home to guanacos, foxes, condors and pumas. Walking or riding through it with your guide, you can explore without the crowds of the main park trails. For many couples, a quiet morning on the reserve is as memorable as the famous hikes.
Villas to Book
The Standard Villas are designed for two, with a king or twin beds, a wood-burning fireplace and central heating. Large windows look out toward the massif and lake. Photos show outdoor wooden hot tubs on villa decks; confirm what your villa includes when booking.
The Master Villas have two bedrooms, each with a king or twin beds, plus a separate seating area. They suit couples traveling with family or friends.
The Cenit Villa is the showpiece, an oval villa of nearly 180 square meters with full privacy. For a once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon, it is worth asking about.
For most couples, a Standard Villa is ideal. With your own guide, vehicle and fireplace, you have everything you need. Ask for a villa with the clearest view of the towers.
Food, Drink and Evenings
The restaurant is reserved for Awasi guests and serves a daily menu built from local ingredients, adapted to your preferences. Expect Patagonian lamb, local seafood and seasonal vegetables, with Chilean wines to match. The lodge is a Relais & Châteaux member. The kitchen is led by chef Natalia Paz.
Meals, drinks and excursions are part of the all-inclusive experience. Picnics and packed lunches come along on full-day outings, often enjoyed somewhere with a view.
Evenings are quiet. After dinner, most couples head back to their villa, light the fire and watch the last light fade on the massif. On clear nights, step outside for the southern stars. There is no big spa, so if wellness facilities matter, ask about massages or combine your stay with a spa lodge elsewhere.
Why guests fall for it
Things to Do
With a private guide and vehicle, you shape each day. The classic is the Base Torres trail, a challenging full-day hike to the lake beneath the three granite towers. Your guide can time it to avoid the busiest hours.
Other options include the Grey Glacier lookout, horseback riding across the steppe and trips to the Sierra Baguales for fossil hikes and rides. Drives in an INEOS Grenadier take you to remote viewpoints.
Puma tracking on the reserve is available at extra cost, with specialist trackers. Sightings are not guaranteed, but the area has good puma populations. Winter brings snowshoeing and quieter trails, with puma tracking and horseback riding continuing through the colder months.
Getting There
Fly from Santiago (SCL) to Punta Arenas (PUQ), about three and a half hours, or to Puerto Natales (PNT), which has seasonal flights. Awasi includes private transfers from Puerto Natales or the Cerro Castillo border, timed to check-in and check-out. Puerto Natales is about 120 kilometers or 2 hours from the lodge, while Punta Arenas is about 350 kilometers or 4 hours.
The lodge has traditionally operated seasonally, with plans to stay open through more of the year, so check dates when planning. The main season runs from October to April.
Pack for Patagonian weather: waterproof outer layers, warm fleece, gloves, a hat and hiking boots. Sunglasses and sunscreen are essential. Wind can be fierce, especially in summer, so bring a buff or scarf.
Is It Worth It?
For couples who want privacy, flexibility and a beautiful villa, yes. Awasi Patagonia turns Torres del Paine into a private adventure, which is rare in such a popular park.
It is very expensive. Approximate rates are around $2,500 to $3,500 a night for two, all-inclusive with a private guide and vehicle, depending on season and villa. Puma tracking and some special experiences cost extra. Treat these figures as rough estimates and check current rates with Awasi.
Pick elsewhere if you want to stay inside the park, in which case Explora Torres del Paine is the classic choice. Tierra Patagonia, also on Lake Sarmiento, offers a big spa and lower rates. EcoCamp Patagonia is far cheaper and more rustic, with domes close to the trails.
