Paradero Todos Santos

Concrete suites, farm fields and a star net on the roof

Paradero Todos Santos is the design-led honeymoon choice on Baja's Pacific side: 41 kid-free suites set among working farm fields between the town of Todos Santos and the surf village of El Pescadero, with the Sierra de la Laguna behind you and the ocean on the horizon. It is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World. It is the hotel couples tend to have seen on social media before they knew where it was.

The architecture does much of the work. Low, pale concrete buildings sit among cacti and crops. Every suite has a private terrace and an indoor-outdoor rain shower. Sky Suites add a private rooftop with a star net slung over the edge, where you can lie together after dinner and watch the sky fill up. The food at Tenoch is built around the property's own milpa. The Ojo de Agua Spa leans on Mexican healing traditions, including a temazcal.

It suits couples who like quiet, good design and days outdoors: surf lessons, whale season boat trips, hikes and long lunches. It is not a beach resort. The sand is a short drive away, so plan on a car or the hotel's help with transport.

Highlights at a glance

  • 41 kid-free suites among working farm fields
  • Sky Suites with private rooftop star nets
  • Tenoch restaurant supplied by the hotel's own milpa
  • Temazcal and sound healing at the Ojo de Agua Spa
  • Surf, whale watching and Sea of Cortez sailing

Why Couples Love Paradero

The appeal is calm without isolation. Todos Santos, with its galleries, mission church and restaurants, is about ten minutes away, yet the hotel itself feels removed from everything. Paths run through the gardens and fields. The light at the end of the day turns the concrete gold.

Because it is kid-free, the atmosphere stays hushed. Families are directed to the separate Paradero Villas, scheduled to open nearby in March 2027 with their own pool and children's club. The hotel itself has no cribs or extra beds.

The staff lean toward warm and unhurried service rather than formal ceremony. Expect to be offered a drink and a seat rather than a lecture on amenities, then left alone to unpack.

Suites to Book for a Honeymoon

All 41 suites share a private terrace, an indoor-outdoor shower, air conditioning and blackout drapes. The differences come down to views and outdoor space.

  • Garden Suite Hammock and Garden Suite Soak Tub, both about 640 square feet, open onto a desert zen garden. The Soak Tub version has an outdoor tub on the terrace, which is the more romantic of the two.
  • Mountain View and Cacti View Sky Suites, about 780 square feet, add a private rooftop with a star net. These are the honeymoon picks.
  • The Saguaro Suite spreads over three levels on a corner lot with views in every direction, the most private option of all.

If budget allows only one upgrade, make it a Sky Suite. Evenings on the rooftop are what couples talk about afterward.

Tenoch, the Milpa and the Spa

Tenoch is the hotel restaurant. Its menus draw on the living milpa, a traditional Mexican planting system of corn, beans, squash and other crops that the hotel uses to restore native soil. Expect local seafood, vegetables picked that day and plenty of Baja wine and mezcal. Cooking classes teach simple recipes with the same ingredients.

The Ojo de Agua Spa offers massages, facials and longevity treatments, plus a traditional temazcal sweat lodge in an adobe dome and sound healing sessions. Both of those are included for guests on the all-inclusive Paradero Unbound rate.

That rate also covers meals and drinks at Tenoch and airport transfers. Given how few dinner options are within walking distance, it is worth pricing against the room-only Simply Paradero rate before you book.

Things to Do Around Todos Santos

The hotel arranges most activities. Many have a gentle, mindful slant. Surf guides take beginners and experienced surfers to nearby breaks such as Cerritos. From roughly December to April, an ocean safari goes out to see migrating whales. There are guided hikes and bike rides through desert trails and palm groves, a farm day with the growers and horseback sessions with the hotel's horses.

For something bigger, a catamaran trip crosses the Sea of Cortez for swimming and lazing on deck. A sailing retreat offers full-day or multi-night voyages. In town, spend an evening walking between galleries and the plaza, then dinner at one of the farm-to-table restaurants. Pacific beaches here often have strong currents and heavy shore breaks, so swim only where locals do and ask about conditions. Mosquitoes appear after rain, so pack repellent. If you're pregnant or hoping to be soon, check CDC travel health notices.

Getting There

Paradero is about one hour by car from both Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) and La Paz (LAP). SJD has far more nonstop flights from the United States, so most couples land there and drive up the coast highway. Transfers can be arranged on request and are included only with the Paradero Unbound rate.

A rental car is useful. It makes beach days and dinners in Todos Santos easy. Parking at the hotel is free. The highway is straightforward in daylight. After dark, livestock and unlit stretches make driving less pleasant, so plan to be back by nightfall or use a driver for late dinners in Cabo.

Is It Worth It?

For design-minded couples who want quiet and character, yes. Paradero feels like nowhere else in Los Cabos, where most luxury is big beach resorts with huge pools. Here the land itself is the attraction. The rooftop suites deliver a genuinely memorable night or three.

It is not the right pick if you want to step from your room onto the sand, or if you want a lively bar scene. Rooms are minimalist by design, so couples who prefer plush, traditional luxury may find them austere.

Rates sit firmly in the upper range. As a rough guide, expect several hundred dollars a night for a Garden Suite and considerably more for Sky Suites or the all-inclusive plan, depending on season. Treat those figures as approximate and check live rates.

Insider tips

  1. Book a Sky Suite for the rooftop star net; ground-floor Garden Suites have no roof access.
  2. Price the all-inclusive Paradero Unbound rate, since it adds meals, drinks, transfers and the temazcal.
  3. Plan your whale-watching trip between December and April and ask the hotel early.
  4. Rent a car for beach days at Cerritos and dinner in town.

FAQ

Paradero Todos Santos questions, answered

Is Paradero Todos Santos kid-free?

Yes. The hotel is kid-free and does not provide cribs or extra beds. Families are directed to Paradero Villas, a separate property due to open in March 2027 with its own children's club and pool. That keeps the main hotel quiet and couple-focused.

Is Paradero on the beach?

No. It sits on farmland between Todos Santos and El Pescadero, with ocean views from many suites and rooftops. The hotel says most local destinations, including beaches, are within about ten minutes. A car or arranged transport makes beach days simple.

Which suite is best for a honeymoon?

The Mountain View or Cacti View Sky Suite. Each has a private rooftop with a star net for lying out under the night sky. Garden Suites are smaller and on the ground floor, though the Soak Tub version has an outdoor tub on the terrace. The three-level Saguaro Suite is the most private.

Does Paradero have an all-inclusive option?

Yes. The Paradero Unbound rate includes all meals and drinks at Tenoch, airport transfers and spa experiences such as the temazcal and sound healing. The standard Simply Paradero rate is room only. With few restaurants within walking distance, the inclusive rate is worth comparing.

How do you get to Paradero Todos Santos?

Fly into Los Cabos International (SJD) or La Paz (LAP); both are about an hour away by car. SJD has more nonstop flights from the United States. The hotel can arrange transfers, or you can rent a car and use the free parking on site.
